Conditions this Sunday morning, the 15th Feb., are still predicted to be very warm so I think that the best thing to do would be to run from Grange Jetty southwards and back for as long as you like, starting at 6.00 a.m. The tides will be low and perfect for beach running.
If 6.00 a.m. is too early for you, turn up later and risk getting hot. The early birds may be bathing in the sea by the time you turn up.
The toilet blocks along the sea front may not open until after 7.00 a.m.
For afterwards there is the Grange Jetty cafe.
The Cleland Trail Runs incorporating the SA Trail Running Championship on 19 April includes three sub-events, measuring 24.7 kms, 12.5 kms and 6 kms. The first is for runners 16 years and older only and forms the South Australian Trail Running Championship. The shorter sub-events are for runners and walkers of any age.
Enjoy racing along the wooded slopes of Mt Lofty, with views down rugged valleys and beyond as far as the sea. This is some of the finest scenery in the Mt Lofty Ranges, yet it is all easily accessible from Adelaide. The courses are predominantly on bush tracks or dirt paths, and almost completely out of sight of roads. They all start and finish on a wide track on the eastern side of the Cleland Wildlife Park carpark.
• Magnificent scenery, beautiful woodland trails, kangaroos, koalas, birds
• Age/gender category awards for the 24 km run (5-yearly eg 20-24yrs)
• Trophies for 1st 3 male & female runners and for the first three walkers (unisex) in each event.
• 5 Water stations along the 24 km course.
• Random draw prizes
