Directions for getting there
Take Southern Expressway and then South Rd (signposted Cape Jervis) as far south as Delamere (where there’s a public toilet), which is 30 minutes drive after Yankalilla. Delamere is not signposted beforehand, but is just after the Rapid Bay turnoff to the right.
Turn left (eastwards) into the Victor Harbor Rd (signposted Fleurieu Way, and also called Coles Rd and Range Rd). Follow for about 1.5 kms to the first turnoff to the right, which is Range Rd West and signposted to Deep Creek Conservation Park.
After c.1 km continue into Dog Trap Rd, and after about another 3 kms continue into Tent Rock Rd. Continue for about 3 kms, and park by the Deep Creek C.P. information board on the left. Parking here is free. If you continue you have to pay.
Allow 85 minutes for the journey from the start of the Southern Expressway at Darlington.
From the parking place, run c.2 kms down a vehicle track to Trig Campground (where there’s a toilet). Take the Deep Creek Cove
Track eastwards (clearly marked) as far as Tapanappa Lookout, and about 400m beyond it. Then turn sharp left and follow the Deep Creek Waterfall Track (also the Heysen Trail) back to Tent Rock Rd.
The tracks are clearly marked, and there are maps at the parking area and the Trig Campground.
The course is 13.3 kms, very rough and picturesque. It includes a river to be waded across, a cliff to climb, and a waterfall, and in total 524m of ascent/descent.
