Four Wise Runners walk into a bar – the Five Peaks panel
We have convinced four members of the trail running community, each previous Five Peaks ultramarathon finishers, that they have plenty of wisdom to offer us all. These four runners have a range of experience, approaches to training, and finishing times and they’ll help answer your questions about preparing for and finishing Five Peaks (whatever your choice of distance).
We’ll run the evening as a relaxed Q&A session with some pre-prepared questions to cover off on some major topics, and then we’ll open things up to the friendly audience to ask any more burning questions. As you’d expect, they’re a modest bunch so we’ll keep their identities under wraps until the night but come along and join in the relaxed evening and throw your name in the hat for a free Five Peaks event entry. The Event Director, Claire will also take the opportunity to give you an overview of the event, and also answer any questions you have.
Auction of artwork for SAVEM
We’ll be auctioning Rebbecca Medhurst’s stunning framed Five Peaks watercolour painting with the proceeds going to the SAVEM bushfire recovery fund.
Farewell to a TRSA Founding Father
The time has come to farewell one of the TRSA Founding Fathers, Doug Smart. Come along and show your thanks to Doug and listen to his 5 minute right of reply to refute any stories and impart some wisdom.
In keeping with Trail Running SA’s updated Constitution and new financial year approved at the July 2019 AGM, the TRSA financial year is now 1 Jan – 31 Dec. We are required to hold an AGM within three months of the end of our financial year.
To fulfil this, we are holding an AGM on Wednesday 26 February to elect a committee for 2020 and present the standard chairperson and financial reports.
In accordance with the TRSA Constitution the current committee holds office until the end of the AGM. Therefore all committee positions are declared vacant and any member of the club may nominate for any position. The TRSA committee is comprised of 12 members and any TRSA member may nominate.
