Getting the most out of poles on the trails
Poles have gained popularity among trail runners including some of our members. Regular users say they provide increased stability, improved balance, and reduced stress on joints.
If you’re curious about whether poles are for you, or if you’d like to make sure you are getting the best out of your hiking poles, local trail running legend, coach and TRSA member, Mick Keyte, is here to help.
If you haven’t met Mick before, he’s got a load of marathon and ironman racing under his belt and has competed in trail races all around the world.
In a practical session, he’ll talk about technique, pole sizing and proper placement on rugged terrain. Plus you’ll get some tips on purchasing the most suitable poles.
If you don’t own poles yet try and source some for the session.
If there is sufficient interest, an additional session will be run later in the morning.
