Merchandise
There are three different types of merchandise available for this event – keepcups, ioMerino series tees and general Trail Running SA Merchandise. There are different ways of getting your hands on each:
Trail Running SA keepcups
Trail Running SA KeepCups are ready to order and they are only $10.
We have teamed up with the Australian company that introduced the world to quality re-usable coffee cups to design the TRSA KeepCup. The KeepCup is the world’s first barista standard reusable cup, perfect for coffee on the go.
John from The Coffee Run will continue offering a 50c discount on coffees in re-usable cups at our events and we’ll supply water so you can clean out your cup if you’d like to go back for more.
Simply order and pay when you enter Kuitpo Forest, and pick it up from the merch tent once you have collected your bib at the event.
ioMerino Trail Running SA 2018 Series tees
You guys loved our official 5 Peaks tops so much, we’ve teamed up with ioMerino again to deliver an official 2018 Trail Series T-shirt for you. So whether you run one, some or all of the events in the series, this is the bragging rights T-shirt for you! These Tees are perfect for running in all sorts of weather and will keep you warm when it’s cold, but can be worn well into the warmer weather as well so you’re sure to get plenty of use out of them.

Course Map & Closures
Course Map
Course maps are at the bottom of this page. The courses will be marked.
Course Closures
Our policy and methodology for determining course closure times is here. All courses close at 11:00am, giving the following cutoff paces:
- 24 km run: closes at 9:00min/km.
- 16 km run: closes at 10:39min/km.
- 10 km run / walk: closes at 14:24min/km..
Walkers
Please enter our short course events only. This is to ensure that you are back safely before course closure.
We don’t time the walking event separately – you can walk or walk/run.
If you are a slower runner doing the longer distances, check the cutoff paces above.
Start/Finish Location (New Location)
The easy way: Click here for directions in google maps
All courses are loops, so they start and finish here. There will be plenty of parking within the forest grounds.
OR
Paste the following into google maps:
-35.248453, 138.695298
OR
Follow the following directions, noting the start/finish location has changed for 2018:
The race start is across the road from the Prospect Hill MTB Trail head car park on Brookman Connor Road. Enter Brookman Connor Road from Brookman Rd and drive about 3kms along the dirt road to the car park. If you’re coming from the Adelaide-Meadows Rd it’s 10 kms from the Brookman Road junction with Dashwood Gully Road (signposted Willunga). If you’re coming from the Adelaide-Mt Compass Rd, it’s 13 kms from the Brookman Road junction with Range Road with that (signposted Meadows).
Toilets
To avoid long queues at the portaloos when you get there, please use a public toilet on the way. There are bush toilets at the Chookarloo camp site (3 kms from the turnoff just before Meadows); an indoor loo at the Kuitpo Forest Information Centre, another 2 kms further on; and a bush toilet at Woodcutter’s Cottage, 2 kms further still. Coming from the south via Mt Compass, there are toilets there. Coming from Adelaide via South Rd, you would have to go through Willunga or Aldinga to find toilets.
Mandatory gear
- Please carry a mobile phone.
- The first aid and emergency phone number is printed on the back of your bib.
- Please notify the race director or TRSA registration desk if you withdraw from the course.
At the race
Bag drop
There will be a bag drop tent. It will be unsecured and not supervised – bags are left at own risk. Don’t leave valuables at the bag drop tent.
Bib pickup procedure
All electronic timing bibs must be picked up at the event. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event start time in order to collect your bib. Find out more about collecting your bibs.
Chip timing procedure
Learn about our timing procedures.
Be careful
Beware of slippery patches on the tracks. Bare, packed, earth covered by green moss may be very slippery.
Course Marking
The signs to look out for:
- Red arrows at turnoffs. All turnoffs will be marked with arrows, and ribbons are never used for this purpose.
- Red-and-white ribbons to confirm that you’re on the right track.
- Wrong way signs where needed.
- Course divergence signs where needed.
The red-and-white striped ribbons will be placed at frequent intervals (200-400m) to confirm that you are on the right track. Wherever you need to turn off, there will be an arrow sign. If you stop seeing any signs, turn back. Do not carry on and get yourself even more lost. All runners are expected to carry a mobile phone.
Drink station and refreshments
There will be 4 water stations on the long course (at 7.5km, 11.5km, 15.5km and 20km), 3 water stations along the medium course (at 4km, 8km and 12.5km) and 1 water station along the short course (at 4km).
Bring your own bottle belts or hydration packs (camelbaks), because there will be no cups of water at the drink stations. Soft bottles and bottles of water will be available for sale at the registration table.
There will be water, fruit, crisps and Maurice’s delicious brownies, as well as a commercial coffee van, at the race start/finish.
