After a couple of very successful downhill sessions in 2017, Toby and Emma from Form Physiotherapy are coming on board to help get you ready for the Five Peaks Ultramarathon & SA Trail Running Festival with a session dedicated to mastering the technical downhill.
Toby and Emma from Form Physiotherapy have helped you learn to let go and fly on the open downhill and with Five Peaks on the horizon it’s now time to tackle the quick technical terrain.
Running quickly over rough ground and through tight spaces requires particular demands, physically and mentally. Whilst the sensation of dancing downhill can be a thrill, the consequences of falling on a steep and rocky segment can be serious. Knowing the terrain, planning your route and acknowledging your limits is key.
In this progression from our previous FREE session, we will explore using your arms for balance on tricky terrain, planning and selecting running lines and changing technique for safely navigating obstacles on the trails.
There will be opportunity for lots of practice and confidence building on challenging surfaces like slippery rocks, gravel or loose debris.
We’ll head into Belair National Park and meet first at Sheoak Rd at the top of Saddle Hill Rd ready for a 7am start (FULL!) or 8am start. Each session will run for about an hour and will be limited to 30 people.
The 7am session is now full. Check your name in the list below. If you have successfully RSVP’ed and are not in this list then you are int he 8am session.
