The Summit to Sea is a unique opportunity to run/walk your way from Adelaide’s highest peak to the beach.
The trail itself was founded in the late 90s by the avid bushwalker George Driscoll, who was determined to find a “path” from the ocean to Mt Lofty.
And find a way he did, with the help of some close friends he managed to link up trails and some roads to forge the path.
The trail itself may not be exactly the same – given roadworks and paths that no longer exist – but there is still something special about being able to trace as best we can the footsteps (albeit in reverse) of such a pioneer.
And it’s a uniquely Adelaide “thing” that we are able to so quickly able to get from mountain to sea.
South Australia’s largest not-for-profit, community-based trail running organisation.
