What could be more appealing than running through the South Australian countryside with amazing views, crisp fresh air, local wildlife and nothing but birds singing to disturb the peace?
Contact with nature while running has been found to dramatically improve the quality of your life. Research at the University of Essex shows that three out of four people feel less depressed, tense and angry after “green exercise”; two out of three are in a better mood; and two thirds report a higher level of self-esteem. (Source: Women’s Running Australia, Issue 15, July/August 2014). It has been proven that these benefits are greater when running in a natural environment than when running in a built environment (Runner’s World, June 2014, p. 20).
Trail Running South Australia (TRSA) has been established in 2014 to bring together trail runners – at any age, at any level and at any ability – and create a trail running community. We organise weekly runs and events, and most importantly a friendly and supportive place to love and enjoy running.
We have a list of routes that we often take which can be found on the routes page.
A calendar of trail running events can be found in the sidebar on each page of this site.
